365, Prada Fall/Winter 2018 Advertising Campaign – Prada Neon Dream
Translating the visual identity of the Fall/Winter 2018 Prada womenswear campaign into moving image, Neon Dream is a short movie featuring model Amanda Murphy, and starring Hollywood actress Sarah Paulson. Here, Murphy is a mysterious heroine, while Paulson plays multiple incarnations of one character, both women moving constantly through the glowing nocturnal landscape of Las Vegas and its famous Sunset Strip, in an ever-transforming narrative.
A playful homage to the cinematic escape and the transformational fantasies of film take center stage in the exclusive digital film dedicated to Prada Cinéma Spring/Summer 2017 eyewear collection. The new Prada Cinéma short film presents a deceptively simple story of a day at the movies, but what apparently seems an ordinary escape gives way to an unexpected plot. The film documents an attempt to capture the pleasures of going to the movies with a delicate sprinkling of cinematic metaphors and whimsical moments of surreal mischief. The main character is played by the model Giedre Dukauskaite. Discover Prada Cinéma at http://bit.ly/2qUZyck.
365, Prada Fall/Winter 2017 Campaign
Prada does not represent a universe, but a multiverse - of parallels, others, alternatives. The depth of creativity defies simple categorisation. Prada exists on multiple plains, with multiple interpretations. 365 reflects this diversity and thematic richness - it is fashion advertising as metaverse, each campaign presenting a microcosm of Prada. Each is honest, each is true, each is real. For the latest evolution of the 365 campaign, six new Prada realities - Pièce de Chambre, Affiches, Chiaroscuro, Mise-en-Scène, Viewfinder and Denouement - are unveiled, photographed by Willy Vanderperre, his viewpoint a thread drawing all the realities together, alongside the distinct seasonal identity of Prada. With Vanessa Moody charmingly representing a strong yet confident femininity, the new Prada Mod eyewear digital film encapsulates a contemporary interpretation of British Mod Culture and its immersive, bold ideology. Confident, international and free thinkers, Mods were communicating more than just a fashion statement — it was a lifestyle, a state of mind. As the leader of a ‘Mod Tribe’, Vanessa Moody seems to almost float through the post-industrial landscapes that surround her, while hidden messages, taking inspiration from Alan Sillitoe’s literary mantra, “Whatever people say I am, that is what I am not” unfold like a neo-realist riddle on screen. Each word from the mantra is revealed as a piece of a cryptic enigma through eight episodes. The project was developed and produced by APRIL, directed by Francesco Maria Tiribelli and Alessandro Farinella, with Creative Director Joakim Dahlqvist. Film Director Matteo Frittelli.
Prada Cinèma Evolution
Prada Cinéma Evolution, the new Prada Eyewear digital project, is an ironic foray into the myriad facets of the female identity. Inspired by the dreamlike power of film, Prada Cinéma Evolution lets dreams flow with a surprising and amusing projection of personal memories. A TV commercial, an unexpected sound, a reflection in a mirror and a birthday cake are moments that emerge and entwine in a very personal film about a young woman on a sunny summer day. The sunglasses and eyewear of the new Prada Cinéma collection are the stars of the story, a narrative device triggering a playful dichotomy between perspective and perception, subject and object and leaving the viewer to ponder the question: Are you the observer or the observed? 365, Prada Pre-Fall 2017 Advertising Campaign - "Parallels"
For the latest facet of 365 showcasing the Pre-Fall 2017 collection, award-winning actor Jessica Chastain is the protagonist of a Prada campaign for the second time. In Parallels, the narrative is new: scenes are captured inside and out of a Modernist home - a resolutely real space, the photographs imbued with an intensity and intimacy. Yet Chastain’s presence, her own persona, causes us to question the images - are these portraits of Chastain, or a character? Is she playing a role, or playing herself? Reality here runs parallel to fantasy. Photographed by Willy Vanderperre with a cinematic quality, Chastain’s eyes never meet ours. She is absorbed in her own world, her own reality, at a remove. Multiple images, like different fragments of the same scene, are juxtaposed, and can pretend to be film stills. But is it documentary, or a work of fiction? The questions hang, unanswered. Just as Jessica Chastain finds reality in her characters, in her parallel identities, so we search for the reality in these images. We find it. The gestures are genuine, and the emotion is real.
